The Operations department at the Portage Water Reclamation Facility is responsible for the day to day workings and adjustments to the plant processes and equipment in order to meet the Facility's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Permit (NPDES). Operations are staffed with the Operations Coordinator and five (5) shift operators that work a rotating shift. Each operator is required to hold a State commercail driver's licsense and a State Wastewater Operator Certification. They are required to keep their certifications current through continuing education courses.
